Eraldi teadmisallikad on Venemaa tegelikest kaodest oluliselt väiksemad arvud välja arvutanud.

Miks see on oluline
The reported daily personnel losses remain close to the record levels recorded earlier in the campaign. The cumulative estimates and equipment-loss figures quantify the scale of attrition, while the concentration of attacks identifies where fighting was most intense. At the same time, the sharp gap between Ukrainian, NATO and BBC Russian Service–Meduza estimates makes independent verification difficult.
Mis juhtus
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian forces neutralised about 2,290 Russian personnel over the past day. It estimated cumulative Russian personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion at roughly 1,606,400 as of 8 November 2026, including killed and wounded personnel.
Over the same period, Ukrainian forces destroyed or disabled 44 artillery systems and 1,337 operational-tactical UAVs. Daily losses also included two tanks, 14 armoured combat vehicles, four air-defence systems, six ground robotic complexes, 461 vehicles and fuel tankers, and seven units of special equipment.
The front saw 199 combat engagements. Russian forces concentrated 23 attacks on the Kostiantynivka direction and nine on the Pokrovsk direction. They carried out two missile strikes and 74 airstrikes, dropped 235 guided bombs, used 7,557 kamikaze drones, and shelled populated areas and Ukrainian positions 2,369 times, including 18 attacks with multiple rocket-launcher systems.
Kuidas Ukraina allikad seda kirjeldavad
Ukrainian coverage centres on the General Staff as the source of daily Russian personnel and equipment-loss estimates. It emphasises the scale of cumulative attrition, comparisons with Soviet losses in Afghanistan and officially recognised Russian losses in the Chechen wars, and the concentration of fighting on the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk and Pivdennoslozhianskyi directions.

The synthesis contains no directly reported international-source articles. International assessments cited in the Ukrainian coverage provide substantially lower Russian loss figures: NATO estimates put actual personnel losses at up to half a million, while the joint BBC Russian Service and Meduza investigation identified at least 276,113 Russian personnel killed since the invasion began. A study by the American Center for Strategic and International Studies estimated combined Russian and Ukrainian losses killed and wounded at more than two million since February 2022.
Kus kajastused lahknevad
The main discrepancy concerns total Russian personnel losses. The Ukrainian General Staff estimates about 1.606 million killed and wounded, whereas NATO assessments cited in the material put actual losses at up to half a million and the BBC Russian Service–Meduza investigation identified at least 276,113 dead. Daily personnel-loss reporting also varies between about 2,290 over the past day and a separate 2,500 figure for 2 November. Combat engagements were reported as 187 by 22:00 on 7 November in one update and as 199 over the past day in another.
Taust
The General Staff says its cumulative Russian loss figure includes both killed and wounded personnel and that the data are periodically updated. A 2 November report put daily Russian personnel losses at 2,500, then the highest figure recorded during the full-scale war; the previous cited record was 2,250 on 21 October 2026. Russia does not publicly disclose its military losses and last publicly reported 5,937 deaths in September 2022.
